David Small

Solicitor in Hungerford since 1981, until 2007 with Charles Lucas & Marshall (as a partner from 1992), then left to set up his own practice in Crown Passage in the town centre. Still practising but winding down in anticipation of retirement (probably sometime next year, as he has been telling people for at least the past 3 years). Also manages the family property company based in Taunton in Somerset (set up by his great-grandfather in 1912 and still going strong). Former professional musician in the 1970s (gigs included the Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s jazz club and the Bottom Line Club in New York) and semi-pro since then, subject to gigs being available (none at present due to the coronavirus) and jazz and classical piano enthusiast. Married to Frances (a carer and therapist, also a Chamber member), two adult sons Alex and Jonathan, former Town Councillor, Rotary Club member since 1986 and current Treasurer of the Croft Hall and of the Friends of St Lawrence’s Church. Keen on cricket (now only as a spectator) and golf and a loyal Leeds United supporter.
